Corrimal East is located in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, 1 km from Corrimal Beach. The school is set on a large ‘open-plan’ property in the northern suburbs of Wollongong.

Established in 1952, it was significantly added to in 1974. It is situated adjacent to the northern railway line, amidst a mixture of residential, industrial and commercial areas and is within walking distance of the northern beaches and serves the local community of Corrimal East.

Students at Corrimal East Public School are constantly engaged in learning activities that integrate technology across the curriculum. The school has several Interactive Whiteboards in classrooms, including a “Connected Classroom” in the school library, a Macintosh computer lab and mobile groups of MacBooks. A school wide intranet, where children publish podcasts, artwork, and other multimedia projects to their own personal web pages is a focus.

In Term 2 of 2010, the school launched a School News Podcast. Also, the school has received support from Illawarra Coke Company to purchase interactive technology.

All students at Corrimal East Public School are provided with learning opportunities from K to 6, which focus on the areas of Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance, as specified by the NSW Board of Studies.

In addition to this, Corrimal East students are afforded the opportunity to participate in additional programs, such as the Southern Stars Spectacular concerts at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
